Toni trained to teach 'The Barkan Method Levels 1 in 2005 and 2/3 and Hot Vinyasa Flow as taught by Jimmy Barkan in 2006.
The Barkan Method is a style of Hatha Yoga that originated from a lineage in Calcutta, India.
It includes breathing (Pranayama), meditation, and sequences of postures (Asana) usually practiced in a heated room to stretch and strengthen all areas of the body. The practice brings vital balance and restores the systems of the body to optimal health. Consistency will create a physical, mental and spiritual harmony that will be felt in all areas of the practitioner's life.
It's said that most people come to yoga through some kind of breakdown, whether it be physical, mental or emotional; Toni initially came to yoga after years of physical injury.
Through her dedicated practice of various yoga styles, she has found that yoga not only help's to heal physical injury but all aspects of one's life. It seemed only natural then that she should share this important message through teaching.
Toni is also currently enrolled in the BSY diploma course for Yoga Therapy.
Toni's teaching style is caring and compassionate and encourages all ages and levels to find grace, balance and beauty within their own practice and therefore life.
