Lucy's background is in teaching and psychology. She is now a writer, Kundalini Yoga teacher and mother of two.
Having experienced the profound benefits of practising yoga during pregnancy she felt inspired to train to teach it herself.
Her teacher training, aptly titled 'Conscious Pregnancy' taught her to tailor classes specifically for pregnant women, modifying yoga sets to help women de-stress, relax and strengthen their bodies in preparation for birthing and motherhood. To be conscious literally means to use one's mental facilities awake, and to realise something oneself.
When pregnant, women are so often bombarded with information from the medical profession, media, friends and family. Lucy believes that women should be able to trust their own intuition and judgement and have the faith to make their own choices.
She hopes practising Kundalini Yoga during pregnancy will empower her clients whether the birth is at home or in a medical institution.
