Ashtanga Workshop With Gerry
Sunday 29th April 13:00-15:30
Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic and challenging form of yoga which builds strength and flexibility.
In this workshop Gerry will slow the series down, and explore the poses in greater depth with specific consideration to alignment and advancing the practice. She will explore the sun salutations at the start of the series and some of the standing postures, as well as exploring the seated sequence including jumping back and jumping through and the building blocks required towards these challenging vinyasas.
Finishing with a look at handstands and headstands, plus the final sequence of backbends, with options offered for all levels.
Students who enjoy other forms of yoga will find this workshop beneficial as many of the poses will be familiar. Fledgling Ashtanga yogi’s will benefit from learning the vinyasa sequence and slowing down the poses. For the more experienced practitioner you will learn ways of progressing the practice, and advanced options will be shown which can later be applied in class.
Some experience of yoga is helpful, and sadly not suitable during pregnancy.
