Your guide to our hot yoga basics - express class
A 60-minute condensed version of the 90-minute Hot Yoga Basics class taught at our Brighton studio. If you are new to yoga, then this is the class for you! As with all the hot classes at our Brighton studio, the room is heated. This ensures that participants will not only sweat, but their muscles, ligaments and tendons will be more inclined to stretch and release. In this Hot Yoga class, our experienced Brighton teachers will guide participants through the fundamental basics of a yoga practice. Exploring breath and alignment whilst developing strength, flexibility and confidence. This hot yoga class is designed to increase the heart rate, which prepares the cardiovascular system for more intense activity: increases blood flow through active muscles; increased metabolic rate; increased speed of nerve impulses, which facilitates more subtle awareness of body movements, cleanses and rejuvenating the entire system. The breath is an important part of the practice, during our yoga practice we breathe in and out through the nose cultivating a calm steady flow of breath. This allows the body and mind to relax and then from a place of ease and stability the breath begins to gradually deepen expanding lung capacity and elasticity. The class consists classic yoga asanas put together in a sequence to challenge the body not physically but emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Creating stamina, strength, flexibility and stability, by using the breath to focus the mind and facilitate movement of the body– the practice becomes an active meditation. Beginning with a few postures to gently prepare the body for intense activity the hot yoga class is designed to take you through a sequence of basic yet challenging postures. Asanas keep your body, as well as your mind, healthy and active. - Open to all levels; this class is perfect if you are new to yoga.
